Although I am myself a member of the pigmentally-challenged, my wife is not and we have been attending an african-american church in SoCal for the past 13 years. Recently I had been attending a class and an older couple had befriended me - although I suspect it was to try and "save" me by bringing me to their church...

When they found about the church our family was attended, they asked if they could attend - almost like a field trip to see how one of "those" church services would measure up - like it was a curiosity. I played along and gave them a link to our website so they could find directions and times of service.

When I saw them a week later they had to apologize for not attending service.

"We were all ready to come visit, but when we found out that you had a woman pastor, we just couldn't do it because that's sinful"

Would love to have seen a photo of my face and whether or not all those f-bombs going off in my head were visible...
