Another little fun fact to helps to explain the lag: In many (I wish I had a precise number) cases it can take a week or more to get one's test results back.

Just blows my mind though that someone can go to a party one day and then brag 2 days later that it was all a hoax b/c they didn't die. Sorry genius, it can a couple weeks for those symptoms to show up and another month before you stop breathing. (Yeah, I've got that half of my family, too)
