Can I hold a couple of mutually-exclusive thoughts at the same time?

I confess that anytime I see the words "should" in conjunction with "US Business" my eyes glaze over as "profit" is the only metric the vast majority care about.

The other thought is "but this is wrong" - b/c we've done such a good job of removing any vestiges of social concern and morality from corporate responsibility, we've now seen where unfettered capitalism gets us. (and it ain't pretty)

"It's only business" is a phrase used to justify a multitude of abhorrent behaviors and we've bought into that concept hook, line and sinker at great cost to our society. I agree 100% with you - time to change
