Every time some idiot cries about "erasing history" I just want to scream. Monuments aren't history, and they aren't erected to remember it - they are a public display of what our society values. Removing them has no impact on "history" (which most of them never studied, 'cuz that would require reading, which is hard you know), but everything about what we say is important.

By the same token, those same idiots have no issues with removing mentions of slavery from textbooks because the maga snowflakes might feel uncomfortable.
