Good stuff!
I've separated from 5 different roles in the last 10 years and can relate to much of this. 3 times it was like being in a relationship where you know you're going to break up - although not sure who's going to make the first move. It's either a relief (when they let you go) or a "fk you" as there was a transition plan that you got to derail. (I can be petty too)
There was one where my boss said cheerfully, "we've had discussions about you and thought you were at risk of leaving". (Someone might have mentioned that little nugget before I quit...) Ironically enough - I really love the people and spend more/better time with them - the dynamic changed for the better.
