Great analysis, Steve -
I've stopped underestimating the lack of critical thinking in the populist movement and have yet to be disappointed.
I've got a family full of "i voted for trump because he's a great businessman" robots. Even if (and we know that's a crock) he were as great as he said - what does that even mean? Does that mean his companies do well? That the folks who work for him do well? How about the thousands of shareholders and contractors who have touched his businesses?
Hell no
Any "success" is for him and his family alone - which is exactly what we saw while he was in office.
40 years of supply-side economics and tax breaks for the wealthy - and the middle class has been gutted while workers are making essentially the same as they were since Reagan took office. Productivity and wealth have soared - with all the benefits going to the 1%. All the while the populists are voting against cheaper healthcare and education just so folks like Bezos can shovel more $$ into their greedy mouths
