Great stuff - full disclosure, I have a rather large one on my calf in honor of my long-suffering wife. She approves.

Our 19-year old son has one on his shoulder that he got 3 years ago. (I'm sure we surprised the hell out of him by not immediately saying no and getting him into counseling) He wanted to get something that his favorite skater had done to commemorate the death of HIS friend - and we got him to understand that YOUR tattoo is a way of telling your story, not someone else's.

He pulled an image from a book my mom used to read to him when he was small - she had passed a couple of years earlier) and had that inked into his shoulder.

Better - now it's his story, and a great way to honor his grandmother - who would have laughed at the idea :)
