Heard some in the House saying "the Dems need to stop playing partisan politics and get a speaker elected" - which translates to "vote for the candidate we tell you to".
Fk you - Jeffries got more votes than your candidate. Nothing in the rules says the Speaker has to be from the majority party, just usually works out that way 'cuz the majority party is usually just a tiny bit less of a train wreck.
After 14 years of obstructionist politics and 12 years (plus or minus) of twisting every rule in the books to get their way (*cough - supreme court - *cough) - the Dems have finally learned that compromising with this group is foolish and naive at best. Fk 'em all.
