I agree with all of this - however want to add that those w/o children shouldn't complain about how their tax dollars are being spent on programs targeting those same children.

The better care we take of our children as a society, the better off we all are. The "why should I support that program that will benefit the local HS, when I don't have kids/mine have already graduated?" line irritates the hell out of me.

To be 100% clear though - the right to have/not have children is no one's business -
