I am so grateful for the relationship my 2 teenage sons had with their grandmother (my mom). They learned exactly the opposite lessons as she always spoke about love, inclusion, science, etc. Frankly, they learned from a very different woman than the one I grew up with, which is even more of a testament to her legacy. When she passed 4 years ago, she was still learning and growing as a person and human being.
