I despair of anything being accomplished in this country as it's damn near impossible to have reasoned discussions about guns.

It seems that if one is part of the gun culture - anyone should be able to own any type of weapon and carry it anywhere they damn please. Any attempts at regulation are leftist communist socialist plots to take away all guns and you hate America.

If one is not part of the aforementioned culture, they see no reason for any guns ('cuz all hunting is bad too) and will shout down anyone who wants an AR15.

I am not part of said culture, but really love cars. Does that mean I should be able to purchase a Formula 1 dragster and race it up and down inside my local shopping mall? (That would be ridiculous of course - but how about up and down the street outside my own home?)

As an oftentimes reasonable human being who's always up for a good debate with someone who knows what they are talking about and can string together a coherent argument - I'd love to get more facts, figures and data to understand and communicate exactly how our gun culture affects our country. WTFK and a shrug is simply not good enough anymore...
