I once watched a show on alternative forms of energy and the “crowning” achievement was a small car that used compressed air to power the engine. After 5 minutes of watching the thing phut, phut phut around an industrial park, the hosts breathlessly explained that this could be the perpetual motion machine that would set us free from energy dependency forever. After all, air is everywhere, and since we could use the power from the engine to compress more air to run the engine, etc, etc…

Mr. Dimon seems to be thinking along the same line. If we cut taxes on the rich and provide supplemental income boosts to everyone else, our economy will hum along just fine.
