It breaks my heart to read this, and it is broken further when I realize that you are not alone. Good people in any field are hard to find, with teachers topping that list IMHO.

We witnessed the MAGA takeover of our board in SoCal - teachers demonized, administrators fired over winter break, hundreds of thousands of dollars being wasted on stupid lawsuits - money that should have gone to our children's education.

I'm in my 6th decade now, and my 6-grade science teacher lives a few doors down - I see him often. He was a wonderful teacher and even better person. It's been a rare treat to get to know him as an adult. I wonder though - would he last 35 years in the profession if he were starting now? I can't imagine how...
