Love this piece as much as I hate how true it is...
This hits at the root of the BS claim that private industry is far superior to governmental agencies. In the vast majority of cases, private industry is better at one thing - optimizing profit for the owners. Privatizing industries consistently deliver higher prices and lower levels of service and quality for the consumers. (yes, there are exceptions, but far fewer than folks believe)
Entertainment? Sure - initially we paid a bit less for streaming services and got some nifty new programming. Suddenly the market splintered when folks realized there was a buck to be made. We now "have" to carry so many subscriptions to get the same programming we used to get with 1 or 2 that we suddenly find ourselves paying more and/or getting less.
