My youngest is a sophomore in HS - so I can totally relate. I had this irrational idea that I wouldn't have to be this involved with his education - my folks barely looked at my report cards - but was obviously mistaken. Perhaps a blessing in disguise, as at least he'll spend a little time with me now :)
But yeah - education, healthcare, estate planning (modest though it may be, I'd rather my kids get what's left than attorneys) - all tools that persist the class system that was more obvious 100 years ago. More subtle now - but it's important we know our place...
