Part of this also stems from the notion that Biden and Trump, like the modern GOP and Dems, somehow represent "far left" and "far right" equally - therefore we need to cover both fairly to provide a "balanced" viewpoint.

Our country has swung so far to the right, that calling Bernie, Elizabeth, and SOC "far-left socialist communists" is completely insane - as if they were the equivalent of the "freedom" caucus on the right.

What we have is center and far-right in mainstream politics these days and the media needs to point this out. Heck, looking back at Eisenhower's policies and positions, he'd be lumped in with "The Squad" if he were alive today.
