Pretty sure there was a conversation just like this when our founders were putting together the constitution:
"So, we're saying that only citizens can be president, right? Do we need to add something about not being a convicted felon? Hahahahahhaha, just kidding, who would be stupid enough to vote for someone like that? Hahahahahaha"
Could have saved us a whole bunch of trouble if they had just included that one extra provision...
