Some good points, but the same mistake of assuming that everyone’s use case matches your own. Driving my kids to school this morning. One school has 800 students and the other 400. Even assuming a small percentage that either walk or rideshare, we’re still looking at 1000 vehicles needed from 7:15–8:00 AM that will then sit mostly idle until 2:15PM. Oh, and my wife is driving to work at the same time — which is probably not an uncommon situation for the other 1000 families…

Single, no kids, late 20’s, living in city, see cars as an appliance to get from A to B? Sure, I’ll bite. Frankly, there’s already a solution or two with regards all those SUVs parked crazily in your city — buy smaller cars and learn to drive…
