My extended family holds firm to this one while railing against immigration. (They came over here from a *shithole country, btw)

Here's the really dumb part of "legal". All it means is that it's not against the law - someone said it's ok. You know how you change the "illegal" modified for "immigrant"?

You just say it's ok.

It's ok to help people fleeing gang and political violence, oftentimes caused by American policies and actions - we just have to open the door and invite them in. Just like that - they are here legally.
