Thanks for your response, Joachim - I would respectively point out that "move one's ass" is part of the human condition :)
I believe we need to move to a system that makes it harder, not easier to stockpile wealth as one moves up the scale - rather than the system we have.
Someone like Bezos has armies of lawyers devising strategies to benefit his personal kingdom and outsized political influence has been purchased to make them a reality. It should get harder, not easier.
Think about starting a workout program - those first few weeks suck. Your body hurts, then the improvements start to come fairly quickly for a while, until tapering off. Then, one needs to work out simply to maintain a high level of fitness. Wealth accumulation should work the same way.

Imagine if pro golf had the best players tee off 30 yards closer to the pin than the average ones. They would never lose. And because they never lose, they'd get to move up their tee shot another 30 yards, and then another 30. That's our economic model in the US right now.
