They could have just saved themselves this headache by declining to hear the case. I ran my own business for over 10 years and we built plenty of websites for clients. We also turned down a fair number of jobs for a variety of reasons. It's not all that hard:
"Hey, thanks for wanting to work with us, but due to our current workload I don't think we'll be able to accommodate you in a reasonable timeframe. If you're willing to wait 12 months, we can certainly put you on the calendar. Oh, your wedding is in 8 months? I guess we won't be able to work together". If they push, we just give 'em some fee that is triple our normal rate. Problem solved.
Oh wait - just maybe this whole crock of sht was due to someone's homophobic agenda (eye roll) - you think?
