This a great response that further illustrates how complicated and intertwined so many of our systems have become. We want simple answers to complex problems ("tax the rich!" or "PE should be better regulated!") without acknowledging the complexities of both the problems and solutions.
Just like trying to fix homelessness - attempting a single strategy will fail, which gives the naysayers a platform to say "see - that wasn't the problem" while reinstating the status quo.
These are serious problems that require serious and nuanced answers - of which we are in painfully short supply these days...
