This is all true - but what I believe is a core issue with this happening is a complete misunderstanding of how far right we have swung in the US. As if the Sanders/SOC group is somehow the equivalent of the "freedom" caucus.
The "extreme far left socialist communists" of the Democratic party are pretty much centrists from a western/northern European point of view - while Gaetz/Jordan would be very comfortable with the most fascist countries on the planet right now. We almost need to swing "far left" (US definition) just to reach the center and no one with an "R" after their name will get within a mile of those policies - even if Eisenhower himself would support most of them.
