Vincent - I appreciate your measured, thoughtful response and your perspective. I disagree, however will certainly reread both pieces and re-examine some of my own beliefs.
My family has been attending an African-American Presbyterian Church for the past 15 years. I am of the "pigmentally-challenged", but my wife, and by extension our 2 sons are not. The congregation is a melting pot of ethnicities - Asian, Hispanic, Caucasian, and of course, African-American. There is a bluntness to racial discussions that would be uncomfortable in the vast majority of churches. We do a lot of work in the community, with no strings attached. Feed hungry people b/c they need food. Period.
We have many members and some in leadership who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.
We happen to love satire and can appreciate that sometimes it's not just the "bad" Christians (your label) who are the target.

If this sounds defensive, I have written poorly (not the first time). To my ears however, your inflexibility/judgement sounds suspiciously similar.

Perhaps our tiny little bubble is unique. Perhaps it all sounds the same to you.

Liberal/Conservative
Religious/Not

We are all (I hope!) Waaaaay more complicated than those simple binaries. Very much appreciate the discussion - Peace
