Yup - but then of course we get the "that's the old testament" argument. (Funny 'cuz the old testament is what gives them the authority to be judgmental, but I digress)
Exodus 21:22–25 is the one that pro-life and pro-choice point to defend their positions and I gotta say that if the issue of abortion is such a cornerstone of Biblical law, I'd have hoped God was a little more clear and spell it out for us mere mortals. If I have to read tea leaves to understand God's position on homosexuality and abortion - could he have maybe included them in the 12 commandments?
The way (many/most) christians carry on, you'd have thought when Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was, he'd have said "homosexuality and abortion - everything else is secondary, including loving your neighbor as yourself - better to stand in judgement than be loving"
Maybe we were using the wrong Bible in sunday school when I was little - but Jesus was pretty clear on the whole loving everyone (including your enemies) thing...
