Yup - we were one of those denied for HAMP. Ran our own business that saw income drop 90% over a 6 month period in 2009. Spent 14 months winding through the system with our application that was denied, because they confused "business income" from "personal income" - which of course was all spelled out for them. I called an hour after receiving the rejection and was told "oh - yeah - that's wrong. However, we've already purged your application from our system. You'll need to reapply and start over".

The same bank that denied our application turned out to be the same bank that took our home in a short sale.
